Formica table four chairs and a radio to light to rock ‘n roll and school snow closures. Made our own breakfast cereal, a p&j sandwich for lunch. Tv in living room. Budgie bird in dining room chirping. Dog springer spaniel waiting for some tough grizzle tossed as her treat. Deja vu.

Oh, what a scene! I can hear those kids bicker, I can just see your dad alone at the coffee table, staring at the black and white TV, looking for a little peace and quiet during his meal. Great little memory, Sharon

Thanks, Sharron! Yes, you have that right. My mom always asked for the gift of "peace and quiet" for Mother's Day. It took me many years to understand what she meant. And then, I had my children. ha ha

Ah, the omnipresent formica kitchens. But the dining room was Danish modern.

We all waited for bus to arrive on the corner under the Lombardy popular tree.
