My Grandmother, who was a modern-day flapper, still living in the 1920’s, but inhabiting the 1960’s, was attending my sister’s wedding. She was wearing a fox stole (not faux), head, tail and all. My other sister and I were sitting behind her, and as the vows were being exchanged, we saw a little movement on her stole. It was a flea. And it was not just sitting there, either. It was bouncing, back and forth, in some kind of acrobatic display. We covered our mouths, and stifled our giggles, to keep the uninvited guest from interrupting the ceremony.
