Mothers with large families have to be inventive to survive. I can feel the love your mother has for her children in this piece. This line cracked me up:"He was terrified of feathers and jello." Thanks for sharing, Sharon.

Thank you, K.C.! She loved us fiercely, and I never understood the intensity of that love, until I had children of my own.

Great piece Sharon. The survival instinct of your mother took over.! Being a little crazy in your later years is okay! And healthy.

A giraffe with feathers? Who knew.

Everything leads to fun if you are a kid: just dont growup!

I didn't. I'll never get on a basketball team!

I still don't hear all the words spoken. End up speaking nonsense and that is often times, a laugh of another color. Call it what you will. Feathers, giraffes, still flock together and a good laugh leaps out of the closet mouth of babes. "Cafe o' lait." Said the toreador. Got the cup by the horns. Your gaff is my gusto supremo. Families are fun if you know how to juggle.

Thanks for bringing this story back out, Sharon. Letting a giraffe in! I laughed just as hard the second time. What a family!
