Rug, Cat, Computer, Wind Chimes, Pruning Shears
A prompt, challenging me to write a piece with these five words.
The rug by the open front door was bathed in the warm morning sunlight. It was too much for Ozzy the cat to resist, and there he lay, curled up. A perfect still life. The gentle music of the wind chimes through the open door, was an invitation for me to zone out, and slip into my meditation, and prayers of gratitude for this lovely spring day. I leave my computer desk, and step, carefully, over Ozzy, and out onto the porch. As I breathe in the fresh, post-rain air, something across the street caught my eye, and I see the Calla lilies blooming, leaning into the green of the natural wild grasses and weeds. The contrast of the milky white blooms, against the various hues of greens, was breathtaking. I think, what a beautiful life I am living! As I glance around the old wooden porch, there are my pruning shears, lying on the potting table, and I am reminded, that with all this spring beauty, comes the work of cleaning up the remnants of winter’s storms…and the spell is broken.
Post pruning and watering and gazing, I'm catnapping with my feet up, as I re-dream your writing challenge and comment--then crash! ( not hurting myself, just exhaustion crashes me out with dreams.
Love it!
