I awoke this morning to our PBS news radio. We're back to this: Every morning the first name the news mentions will be his name, and all day long, just as it has been for nine years.... It has been disheartening how many minority men - whom he constantly attacked - still voted for him simply because he was a man. Seriously, guys...THIS man is better for you than a much qualified woman?! PS Good prose, Sharon, of course...
Well said, Linda. We are not rid of him….still. I don’t care 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 he goes, I just want him out of my face. I will not be ignorant of his actions. We all need to be informed. The free press/media are important. We do need them! But I will not be wrapped up in the 24/7 news cycle anymore. Just the facts, Ma’am. That’s what I need. And interaction with thoughtful friends like you! Thanks, Linda!
Thank you, Sharron! Writing is my pleasure, and at times, my release. If I need to release thoughts that are stuck in my head, or my heart, I write about them. Sometimes they end up in the back of a personal journal, but at times like these, I am sharing what I believe other people are feeling, too. We are a community, here. And I think it is appropriate to allow people space to share…and the choice to read, or not…but my hope is that we take what resonates with us, and leave the rest, respectfully. ✌︎
Remember, our Substack friends are the choir - they agree with your hopeful and conciliatory words. A LOT of people do use Substack NOTES to vent their politics, and spew invective - no better than the other mainstream antisocial media. But we don't need to go there. We are here to read and to write and find a smart, supportive writing community. And that is what we are doing. I am so glad I found my place.
