It's The Little Things

Hugging me, he says, "This is the best part."

Waking up, knowing he’s here beside me. The coffee is brewing, with a gurgle and a whoosh. The smell is familiar, rich and inviting.

“Good morning, my beautiful bride!”

He lifts my spirits.

Hugging me, he says, “This is the best part!”

Looking out the kitchen window, I see the bunnies, hopping about in our yard. This never gets old!

We agree that the bunnies, deer, turkeys, birds, squirrels, and an occasional fox, are all amazing to watch. They are spread out on the property, eating the seeds, nuts and grass.

“Awww!”

In the evening, after a day of errands, yard work and naps, I put dinner on the table, and we toast with our coffee, to our little world, “These are the good old days,” we say, in unison.

And after checking in with the world on social media, watching a ballgame, while eating our homemade popcorn, and feeling like life couldn’t get any better, we retire for the evening.

Spooning in the dark, he says to me, “This is the best part!”
