Redwoods
Older than the birth
Of Jesus
Roots, like toes
Buried deep in the forest mulch
which absorbs all but the sound
Of the bird songs
And the sighs of leaves in the wind
Nature’s architecture
Invites wildlife to burrow, bury
Climb and crawl
And feast upon Her bounty
For eons, upon eons
Under the ever watchful galaxy
Oh! What inspiration, Sharon! We live in such a truly beautiful place, don't we? Walking in the redwood forest is like going to church. Holy places. This line is so melodic: "Nature’s architecture / Invites wildlife to burrow, bury / Climb and crawl"
So beautiful, Sharon!! It really touched my heart and made me grateful to live with the Redwoods. Thank You!!
