Christmas Picture On My 'Fridge
Freeze this joyful moment, where the possibilities are unending.
The future of this world
Smiling back at me
Through sparkling eyes
Bubbling with enthusiasm for life
Barely contained within these spring-loaded bodies
Pushing at the gates of tomorrow
Are the million questions, answers yet to be learned
Shiny clean hair reflects the sunlight
As halos atop innocent angels
Yet to inherit this less-than-perfect earth
Pray for them
Give them strength
Freeze this joyful moment
Where the possibilities are unending
Where magic is still real
And where children, free from burden
Sleep in peace
"The future of this world smiling back at me..." "...spring-loaded bodies pushing the gates of tomorrow.." [a world] "... where children, free from burden, sleep in peace"
Just beautiful, Sharon - for your family and for every family. The photo is especially poignant as I know that one if these granddaughters graduates from college this month and the other from high school. Still filled with enthusiasm and bravery.
Will the future have a good future? Who knows? Let’s hope so.
