What a story! A riot of different species. It must have been quite a challenge growing up in your family! ha ha ha. That explains a lot. "The song of his people." Cute!
I remember this day SO well, pure chaos! But, didn't fat little Bobo also get stuck in a long carpet tube and we had to shake him out? Same day? Or, maybe a different day? Anyway, love this post Sis! ❤️💙💜💚
Thanks, Sue! Yes. Bobo DID get his chubby little butt stuck in a carpet tube, and we, indeed, shook him out on the lawn, and it was on a different day... poor little Bobo.
Have you ever read 'Danny, Champion of the World' by Roald Dahl? It's one of my favourite books of his, I think. One of the characters hypnotises pheasants - reading your post has taken me right back to when I read the book. You've prompted me to seek it out from the library!
Also: Throck Morton P. Guildersleeve, Jr.? AWESOME name. 🤣
Thank you, Rebecca!! No, I haven't read that book, but now you have me curious. Sounds like my kind of people. Yes, that goldfish was awfully small, for such a big name, but he wore the name proudly. ha ha!
In the late 1950s I had a circus trainer for a gymnastics coach since my acrobatics went beyond what my ballet teacher knew. I had no idea what I was in for!!

Thanks, Sharron! Yes, it was a character-building experience, growing up in my family. Either that, or I'm crazy. Could be both! lol
Yes.... about that "crazy" part.... As long as you are having fun out there at the Gopher Farm, that is all that matters.

SUCH fun, Sharon!

That’s priceless! What a fun memory!
Thanks, Terry!! It was wild! Glad you enjoyed it!
A fun, funny memory!
Thank you, Linda! It was very funny to us. However, Bobo was not amused! 😉
You had a real circus going on there! Pretty funny. Terrific pet names!
Thank you, James Ron! We always had more than one pet competing for attention in our house. And most of them had funny, or weird names.
Three rings? ONly three? I'm certain you had 4 rings to your well-lived circus at times!
Well done!
Thank you so much, Jill! There were times I couldn't count the rings in our circus.
I hear you!

And it never stopped.
