When we began to walk again In the glow of peace

The villain appeared casting shadows

On that which had taken hold

In the light of freedom

His cloak did not hide the hateful vengeance

And his lips spun a web

Of empty promises of prosperity

While the truth was hidden from no-one.

And the followers crushed the dreams

Of the marginalized who yearned

to be free

And walk in the glow of peace

And pride for their place in this land

And those who hungered

For the truth which would set them free

Found it elsewhere

In the words spoken

From the lips of a woman

Whose words came from wisdom

Whose truth was delivered openly

With nothing to hide

We knew her as a sister, a mother and a friend

As integrity through her works

With open eyes, and open heart

And a vision of harmony

For the believers, for the non-believers

And at last

The shadow was lifted

From the minds, yes and hearts

The villain was put away

Now the healing work can begin
